Description:

The program focuses on communication skills. Learners will familiarize themselves with producing language appropriate to various contexts. The focus will be on mastery of structures used to build logical arguments and the thought processes and methods of analysis that lead to effective presentation of ideas. Further, learners will learn essential workforce entry skills as well as the skills necessary to work as part of a team in a North American context.

Prerequisites:

    Applicants are required to have Grade 12/GED, or mature student status.
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 4.5]
    Application Notes : International students are required to submit proof of English Proficiency such as IELTS or TOEFL scores (if available) or have successfully completed the Sprott-Shaw Entrance Assessment (with a minimum score of 20/40 in language). Students must score a 4.5 or higher on the Sprott Shaw internal assessment or a 4.5 or higher on IELTS or equivalent, with no band lower than a 4.
    Additional Admission Requirements:
      Applicants must successfully complete the admissions interview and entrance assessment (with a composite score of 42).
